35mm Cinema equipment

I have alway had a very keen interest in the cinema and at the moment 35mm cinema projectors are avalible to use at home, which not long ago could have only been for the wealthy , because these machines cost originally tens of thousands of pounds to produce. So why own one, its a bit like why do you like live steam or even classic cars. There is a bit of magic happening when you see and hear the projector coming to life producing a fine large image onto the screen. I know digital projectors  are around  and they now produce fantastic pictures with minimum of set up. I have a Sony 4K system and its brilliant, but to have two projectors systems running side by side  makes it rather special. For me as soon as Pearl & Dean is projected with that very famiiar theme tune  I know I'm really at the cinema.  Dont forget even today there are releases which were shot on film, hence why some 4K content is so good. Films and in particular adverts for films are avalible at cheap prices which were used in cinemas in the past. In my opinion these like everything in our past will be come highly sort after and hence prices will rise.

Despite the size of or even the weight they are neither  difficult or expensive to courier around the country. I have 4 machines a Philips P20 approx 1966, the later model Kiniton approx 1970mand two Cinemechanica Victoria 5 projectors one was only purchased in 2006. These machines are ideal for home use as they were designed for the multiplexes from the 1970's  so a nice size.

This is my home cinema with original cinema seats with a 12 foot width screen , the projectors are in another room projected through an opening in the wall.

Victoria 5 35mm cinema projector

The Cinemeccanica Victoria 5 was first introduced in the 1970's when Cinema's were trying to survive by creating multiplexes , This machine of mine is in fact a very late model 2006, with very low hours. The lamp house has a 1600 Watt Zenon fitted with the rectifier built into the base, so very heavy. This will be going into my cinema in the future
