A very good condition Jewel case radio, first produced in August 1955 costing £9 9s 6d and batteries extra.
This radio is very sensitive and selective and comes complete with a copy of the original user instructions and Guarantee. The radio offers Medium and Long wave reception. The chassis is very clean, and the paper capacitors which often found to be leaky or in this case short circuit have been replaced and now works perfectly. You get a high level of volume from this set so was handy for picnics.
Often these radios were a second radio, hence often condition is very good and now popular with 1950's and 60's classic car and motorbike enthusiast today.
This radio receiver requires two batteries to work . Which are an Ever Ready B126 90 Volt HT and AD35 1.5 Volt LT for the heaters, now enthusiasts can make there own up , and to keep the cost down on the purchase I have not included them . Please see my battery page . Note these battery's have been shown to last minimum 1 year and typical 18 months. Radio s s guaranteed for 6 months.
