This radio was promoted by the popular Radio Luxemburg, being broadcast on Long Wave 1304 metres. By 1961 was advertised as the station of the stars. By the mid 1960's there was a London studio, in effect creating later Radio 1 with its format. So this radio was produced to meet that market with the teen's in mind hence Lux'B'G on the dial. The case therefore is a basic moulding with a plastic case to protect it, though not from UV light. This radio is a interesting piece of UK history and at this time was using the AF117's transistors, if you compare Hacker were by now onto Silicon. The radio is priced shown on the box at £7.13.11d , so not pocket money.
