Bush MB60 (January 1958) SOLD
It started here , the iconic and rare designed Bush MB60 radio. Originally released in June 1957 and within 6 months the chassis design was up-dated. The reason why these are good is the fact of having a extra I.F stage , this improves sensitivity and selectivity and costing £15 17s 6d pluse purchase tax was quite an investment. This radio has had a lot of work undertaken to bring it back to working condition, the Rexine material has been replaced, the brass polished and the front case re-polished to remove a lot of its poor 60 years of history. The HT and LT supply has been updated with silicon rectifiers and smoothing electroltics where required and all the de-coupling components replaced. Calibration of the I.F stages and RF have been completed . This radio rear cover was so damaged that it could not be re-used, so a early TR rear case cover was found to match the colour of the front was located , though typical of the fragile plastic there are are a few chips to the right lower side, if a perfect example can be located this will be upgraded.
As this is a battery/mains radio and by using an extra valve meant the the heaters could not be in series due to 9.0 Volts required, standard was 7.5 . The radio comes supplied with mains lead a 1 years gurantee.
