Reel To reel tape machines

Reel to Reel recorders like vinyl in records are here to stay.

The period tape machines like Ferrograph were hand built to last and were built  in the UK, just like the classic radio's of the same period use off the shelf components . With that classic valve sound and mechanical design whats not to like. Every instutution had them BBC, schools, armed forces and if you were lucky the private owner to .With the correct servicing some 50 years later they are  as good as the day they left the factory

Retro with Classic designs are now very popular. There are a number of client's who collect from a certain decade, this can be for personal interest or as props in television or film, through to interior design. At times we are asked to supply good looking models but are not fully functional. If there is a particular period radio you require please contact me to your specific needs so we c

an do the hard work for you.

Vintage and retro TV for sale

As with a complex circuit like the television set, there is considerable more work involved in restoring and to some degree repairing than most radio receivers . With this in mind and to ensure reliability the retail cost has to be considered, for example you can purchase a set only to find the CRT is either low emission or non existent , ! ouch, or the L.O.P.T.Y has a shorted turn, yes you can get them rewired at around £100 , so there are just a few of the difficulties to overcome. The market is changing with an increase in pricing  now clearly beeing seen, so if you have to pay more, then the end costs must to some degree rise.

There are some good dealers who will check the CRT before they sell, but could not do a full test on a set without considerable expense , but that is a good start. Auction sites will often show some interesting sets and with the lower costs of courier's these days can allow you to purchase remotely , but as with any auction Buyer Beware......

Courier costs. Tv's are sold inclusive postage and packing, this is undertaken by a private individual company, ensuring more care in your investment, and are picked up the day before delivery, if there are any issues with this due to your location I would inform you of any difficulities in advance.

If you wish to pick up your set directly there is of course discount due to the above not being required so please ask in advance as to the value of the reduction.
