More radio batteries

Over time i'm trying to increase my range of period batteries and as a result this is now page two.

Some of them will be duplicates but of a different period, so i should be able to offer a battery of a certain decade to match the period when your radio receiver of interest was first produced.

These batteries are copies from the originals i hold here for reference and are printed direct on to card via a local print shop using  high grade printers. New batteries are fitted to match the original voltage as described and due to the difficulty of obtaining the original plugs the cables are fitted to chock block that allows connection to the original plugs as fitted to the radio receivers.

If requested I can fit small crock clips allowing direct connection to the original connections fitted.

Additional postage costs (£11.0) for posting outside UK (Australia no longer possible until further notice)

Please purchase this as an extra cost for batteries being purchased and required to be posted in Europe , USA and canada . As with all postage costs I do try to keep prices to the minimum, but it seems courier costs have risen. If you contact me with your address details before ordering I can advice of any additional costs above the battery price

Please note recently due to change in Australian rules batteries are no longer accepted for transport to this country until further notice. Radio's still are

This battery was first produced in 1945 and was designed for the Ever Ready range of dry radio receivers, model A, C, C/A, C/E, K and the L26 Sky Scraper.

It is quite large at 200 mm width, 140mm in height and 77 mm in depth, like all my batterys obtaining the original type fittings is impossible so outlet for the HT and LT supplies are via chock block allowing direct fitting to the original plug,

Ever Ready B136 combined 90 Volt HT / 1.5 Volt LT battery

These large and heavy batteries were combined 90 Volt HT & 1.5 Volt LT. The reason why they were so sizeable was due to giving a minimum of 250 hours of use. I imagine the long usage took some of the sting of buying one. These were used in the Sky series of Ever Ready battery radios. The version I can offer looks the same but, due to cost in shipping weight and the amount of dry cells needed, is reduced to give an equivalent usage as per the standard versions available

We offer both types of batteries the Exide536 on the other batteries page if required.

Fitting is via chock block via the original plug. Instructions given

Due to size and weight £5.00 postage and package is included

Ever Ready AD38 7.5 Volt LT (1949/50)

Quite a rare battery and was used  often for the jewel case radio's of the period that were both mains and battery operation. Due to being mains working as well, the heaters would have been in series therfore creating a high resistive load hence the 7.5 volt unlike the paralel 1.5 as driven via AD35 battery.

Drydex Exide H1158 1.5 Volt LT

This battery introduced in 1938/39 uses the same pin connectors as the AD35 and therefore was the original 1.5 Volt heater battery for the miniature valves that were just coming into use at this period. The battery must be in the order of twice the capacity of the AD35 series and i would guess were only in use for less than a decade as the jewel case radios using the later versions due to smaller heater currents were introduced by the late 40's.

There was still a large quantity of full cabinet size receivers as well in use around this period as AC/DC supplies were still not availible to every household.
